I already have a qualification. Am I covered?
The only qualifications recognised after 4th July 2010 will be those that meet the requirements of Regulation EC307/2008 and adopted bodies C+G, IMI and IMIAL
I don't have the above qualifications but I do have a lot of experience
If you have worked in this sector but do not have the relevant qualification then you can do the City+Guilds 7543 Refrigerant handling qualification. This only takes a few hours with costs from £150 + vat. This will allow you to perform legally within the MAC industry and also allow you to purchase refrigerants.
We are a garage and want a few candidates training at our location, is this possible?
Yes! We can visit your location, provided that there is at least 3 candidates with costs from £150 + vat per candidate for the refrigerant handling certificate. We can also tailor fit a course for new candidates or technicians requiring a mobile air conditioning input to bring them fully up to speed with current legislative requirements. We can travel to your place of work, minimising downtime for your staff. Mileage rates may apply.
What does the new qualification entail?
Basic Knowledge of the operation of air conditioning systems in motor vehicles. Handling a refrigerant cylinder. Connecting and disconnecting a recovery set to and from the service ports of a motor vehicle air-conditioning system.
What are the costs for the one day City and Guilds 7543?
The cost per candidate is £295 + vat for courses undertaken at our premises in Chesterfield. We can travel to your workplace to train your technicians / candidates. Minimum numbers are required. Please see our seperate drop down menu for course dates
What is achieved from taking the course?
A successful assessment will provide from the City Guilds which includes a certificate which legally allows that person to work on a vehicle air conditioning system, handle and purchase refrigerant.
