F Gas Accreditation

The City & Guilds 7543 Refrigerant Handling Certificate for Mobile Air Conditioning Systems" (MACS) is designed with the experienced automotive technician in mind who requires an official qualification to comply with F gas regulations. A practical assessment followed by a short oral question paper establishes the competency of the candidate to perform the role of the automotive refrigerant technician.

The handling certificate provides the qualification necessary to satisfy EU legislation in the mobile air conditioning market. It is designed for anyone involved within the automotive industry including mobile mechanics, independent garages, main dealerships and motor manufacturers.

Our assessors are City & Guilds approved and have extensive theory and practical experience within the automotive market. They are actively involved on a daily basis within the industry.

The candidate must have previous experience in the automotive air conditioning industry and must be able to carry out a competent and safe charging and recovery process of a mobile air conditioning system using either an automated service station or portable equipment without instruction or prompting.

Basic introductions will be provided along with any legislation updates but it is expected that the candidate is competent and skilled already in this area and just requires the legal certification in order to continue to perform in this area. No formal training or assistance will be given during the assessment. If you do not meet this criteria please see our 1 day course which provides training and certification in 1 day.
